At first I thought about human contradiction between open-mindedness
and closed-mindedness and wanted to represent this philosophy in the space. . |
This space
is used by an artist student. It has a studio which is positive space. The
student recreates this space, and each room is changed by each students
characteristics, and this apartments living room is studio so art becomes part of life. For example: if a painter lives here, that person can draw here, and if a sculptor lives here, that person can do sculpture every day, and if a graffiti artist lives here, that person can draw graffiti on the walls. And if they want to hold an individual show they can do it. |
And the negative
space has utilities and deskwork space, which need human ergonomics very
much. Because I wanted to make space small, I followed human ergonomics
by measuring my own body. My purpose was to make flexible space, and my fundamental idea was simple: the shape and the materials were inspired by a Greek row of houses along the street . |
